Failure analysis - metallurgical, corrosion, fitness for service
HSS Technology, providing support in failure analysis

HSS Technology provides an experienced engineering staff to assist with metallurgical, corrosion, or mechanical stress related equipment root cause failure analysis and investigations in refineries and petrochemical plants.  HSS Technology is Texas based and service driven.

Experienced support is provided in key technical areas:

- Metallurgical
- Corrosion
- Fitness for service
- Repair procedures / welding fabrication QA/QC
- Inspector technical support in API 510, 653, and 570
- Material selection for new designs or replacement equipment

Failure Analysis

The failures may be as routine as a bleeder failure, or as complex as a premature failure of a reformer tube. We can provide zirconium welding QC, or we can recommend heat treating procedures.

Equipment failures never occur at a convenient time. We offer 24-7 service and will strive to provide root cause failure analysis results in a timely fashion to assist with the difficult repair decisions. HSS experience will always provide applied results.

Metallurgical / Corrosion

HSS Technology can provide metallurgical laboratory failure analysis to identify a material's properties and characterize material damage. Engineering analysis of the results will identify the root cause of failure and provide recommendations for corrective action to prevent recurrence.

Repair Procedures

Once the root cause failure analysis has identified the cause of failure, our experienced staff can provide specific repair procedures. Equipment is returned to service as quickly as possible.

Welding fabrication QA/QC is an inherent expectation in any organization. QA/QC in the plant has different obstacles to overcome as compared to the pressure equipment fab shop. Our experience will guide you through QA/QC steps to assure quality repairs in accordance with jurisdictional requirements, NBIC, or API.
